Leo Reigelsberger, Transportation Director Humboldt CSD
I grew up on a family farm in rural Humboldt, IA. I continue to work on that same farm along with my wife, four children, two sisters, and their families. Along with farming I was the transportation coordinator at Hog Slat for 13 years. I was hired as the transportation Director for Humboldt/Twin Rivers Community School Districts in September of 2013.
Between the two districts, we have 12 routes and transport around 400 students each day. These routes cover approximately 310 square miles. As a former student of the Humboldt school district, safety of the current students in our community is a major part of my day.
I strive to make sure that my bus drivers and I do our best each and every moment to ensure the well being of our students. I tell everyone, “We see semis going up and down the road everyday filled with expensive cargo. We as bus drivers have the most precious cargo that anyone can haul, our next generation, our students.”
